Five concerts and 1,436 miles later, I'm pleased to say that we're home safe and sound, although very tired. The guys started out Friday night singing with The
Perrys at the Pix Theatre in
Lapeer. The
Perrys are so special to all of us and they truly ministered to everyone there that night. Libbie insisted on having Taylor Hawks come and sing as she has in the past. Libbie is definitely Taylor's hero and she was thrilled. (Libbie wasn't all that thrilled that Taylor is now taller than her.)
We left Flint around midnight and drove all night to Wisconsin. All the wives were able to go on the trip along with baby, Lionel. When we got to our first destination, the guys cleaned up and left for their Saturday afternoon concert at the Field of Praise Concert in Marion, WI and then returned for an evening concert. Motel beds were never a more welcome sight than that night. The concert we had scheduled for Sunday morning unexpectedly cancelled a week before the trip but another church in the area graciously invited us to come to their church, Community Bible Church in Wittenberg, WI. I cannot remember a church that has made us feel more welcome. We then loaded back into the bus for our evening concert at Family Worship Center in Park Falls, WI. This church had a wonderful group of folks who were very appreciative of the guys ministry. After that concert we drove to Iron Mountain, MI to spend the night. That trip from Park Falls to Iron Mountain seemed the longest of the whole trip. I don't know if it was because we were all so tired or because we had to dodge so many deer at the side of the road.
Monday morning we took off for home, very thankful for all the blessings we had received. The Lord kept us safe and the bus ran great (always a blessing!). We met a lot of great people and look forward to going back to Wisconsin one day. After that long, long trip, I'm not sure how those full-time groups do this.
Blessings,
Pam
