Latest News From The Royalheirs

The past week has been crazy for The Royalheirs. Last Sunday, we started out at Reading Nazarene with a great service. As we left there for the trip to Ovid, we saw mighty clouds of black smoke begin to pour out of the engine of the bus. We were able to make it to the Meijer's parking lot in Mason, MI. Shem's parents, Rich and Jill Koutz came to our rescue and brought two vans to pick up us and all the equipment to get to our concert. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. and had everything setup and were singing by 6:05 p.m. The church was packed and we had another great service that day.

The bus finally made it back to Flint on Tuesday and will be in the shop for awhile. This weekend, we are in Ohio traveling in my wife, Pam's van. Please pray that the repair bill will be low and that we all survive the close quarters we will have in the van. Four big guys in a van after judging a chili cook-off in the morning service may not be good.

Many thanks again to Rich and Jill Koutz for all they did for us last Sunday.

Until next time,

Chuck

Sorry for the long stretches between my posts. I can't believe it's been a month since the last one.

A few weeks ago, we were with the congregation at Mammoth Baptist and had a great morning service. The pastor and some of the members of the church treated us to a delicious meal at Famous Dave's.

Last Saturday, we sang in Onaway, MI at Onaway Baptist. This was our first opportunity to sing at this church. We had a lot of fun, met some great folks and to top it off, had a wonderful chicken dinner.

We're off until the end of the month and that means we can be with our sweethearts for Valentine's Day. These ladies give up a lot so that we can be weekend warriors for the Lord. We want to say thank you to Jessica, Kory, Sandy and Pam for their love and patience with us when we are gone so much and devote so much time to this ministry. We love you!

Until next time,
Chuck

We started 2010 out in Ohio. We left Flint at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9th for Lima, OH. We sang at Family of Faith United Methodist Church for a fundraiser for their food pantry. It was our first time to sing in Lima. The church is beautiful with the coolest stained glass windows. That night we stayed in Marion, OH and when we woke on Sunday, we found that we had stayed in the coldest city in Ohio that night. The actual temperature was five below with a windchill factor of fourteen below. The bus took an extra long time to heat up and we had to wear our hats and gloves for the first half hour of the trip.

Our Sunday morning concert was at Fargo Wesleyan in Fargo, OH. I was pleasantly surprised to find my sister, Nora and her husband, Sam and a couple friends had driven an hour to come hear us sing. After the concert we had lunch with my family at Ryan's.

Sunday evening we sang at Peace Lutheran Church in Defiance, OH. Wow, what a church! The pastor and congregation took such good care of us and made us feel so welcome.

After a three hour return trip, we arrived back in Flint around 11:30 p.m. We had three new churches for our first trip to Ohio this new year. Our new friends made us feel warm on a very cold weekend. God is good!

Until next time,

Chuck

We ended 2009 with about 200 our our friends and families at our annual New Year's Eve concert. We were with The Foresters, Harmonaires Quartet and Strength. Everyone did a great job. We're excited about 2010. This will be the Royalheir's 15th year in the ministry of singing southern gospel music. We will soon have a new look for our website, so keep checking for all our upcoming news for 2010.

We all hope that everyone has a blessed and prosperous 2010.

Until next time,

Chuck

Bet you didn't know the Royalheirs bus has secret powers. Apparently, it is able to make itself invisible. That's what the driver of the car said that hit us...."I didn't see it!" Perfectly understandable....40 feet of metal rolling down the road is very difficult to see.

Before the accident on Saturday night, we had a great concert at First United Methodist in Memphis, MI. There were so many people they had to set up more chairs. They also had a great meal after the concert.

Sunday morning we were in Brown City at Omard United Methodist. I'm suprised anyone was there. The roads and the church parking lot were like skating rinks. Sunday night, we closed out our last full weekend for the year at Victory Tabernacle in Flint. The concert was well received and we saw five people ask for special prayer. What a way to end 2009.

We would love to see you all at our New Year's Eve concert (for more information, see our home page).

Until next year,

Chuck

Last weekend we were at three new churches. The pictures above were at Stony Creek United Methodist in Ypsilanti where the pastor advertised us as The Royal "Hares". Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you....that is Wayne "Precious" Rodocker filling in for Jeff, who was with us but couldn't sing due to a bad case of laryngitis. We're thankful Wayne was willing and able to help us out and he did a great job.
Sunday morning was an awesome service at Northwest Baptist Church in Farmington Hills. It is a great congregation and we hope to get back there real soon. The evening service was in Monroe at Liberty Missionary Baptist and we made more new friends.
Thanks again to Wayne for filling in on such short notice.
Until next time,
Chuck

Last Saturday we sang in Vermontville, MI at Kalamo United Methodist Church. This was the second time we had a chance to sing for this church. We had a great concert and the cookies after the concert sure hit the spot.

Sunday morning we sang at Reading Nazarene Church. This was our second visit this year. We were blessed to be there for their Harvest Dinner. Wow, what a spread they had. Those people certainly know how to cook. Sunday night we were off and that doesn't happen very often. It was great to get home early to our families.

Please keep Roy in your prayers. He's doing better but he was really sick and wasn't able to be with us last weekend.

Have a happy Thanksgiving and remember to give thanks to God for everything he has and continues to give to us.

Chuck
